Tropes: Continue To Be or Continue To Flee

Hello my little favorite munchkins. How are you all doing? I am doing well. I have been thinking and I haven’t done a lot of discussion posts lately or really at all. So I thought why not do one right now? So the idea about tropes came to my mind because of the last review I did. I really hope you all like it. Anyways this is my second post for today and I hope you all like it!

Now why don’t we get into it?

Tropes_ Continue To Be or Continue To Flee

The-off-limits-romance:

Okay what is really up with this? Like why does the “Bro Code” or, “Girl Code” always have to be brought up as a way to keep two people who obviously love each other away from the other one.

Like this shouldn’t happen in the real world and this defiantly shouldn’t be written into books for the next generation to see it and think that it is acceptable.

However if the person they are trying to get with is WAY older then them or someone the  should stay away from for THEIR OWN BENEFIT such as mental and physical health then I can see that.

All in All it is just determined in how it is written.

Girl’s-Life-Changes-Because-of-a-Boy:

Some real life males are okay and some fictional book males are okay but at this point shouldn’t we all just grow up and become a CRAZY DOG PERSON. Like no thank you cats, dogs for life!

I really think this trope is triggering to some people and extremely male dominated idea.

The reason why I think that is because it can be harmful to people who have been abused or extremely hurt by a person of the male spectrum on top of that all it gives younger people the opinion that what happened in the past was okay. What I mean by that is in the past and even still now males are perceived with a higher opinion compared to others and just in the last couple of years really have things been getting better and WE ALL are still working on it and I just think that this trope can go dig a whole and burry itself in it.

Mental Illness as a Quirk or as a scapegoat for the plot:

Now I am really happy that we are starting to talk more and more about mental health as we need to see that in books because real people deal with this on a daily and fictional characters definitely shouldn’t be left out of this.

However, as we are using it more and more in books we are also seeing it as a “Quirk” in characters, or as a way to get the plot moving again. Now this isn’t only fit for a bad story,  it also shows the dangers of what the author/s are doing and how they should be in a different industry, along with it hurts those who do have mental illness and those who have loved ones who they know who have mental illness. But that isn’t the worst of it all it shows the social stigmatism that many people have towards those who have a mental illness or the people who are reading those book/s that can be gathering that mindset.

Bad Boy can be a d*** because of his ‘past’:

Chosen One:

This is so over used. At this point in books it is more sad to see it than anything. However if an author can pull it off right then I would love to see that.

Hate to Love:

I really like this trope as long as the characters are safe. I mean if they get into arguments and then later in the story become friends and then even lovers then I think that is okay but if the characters go from abusive to all of a sudden lovers then I believe that is a toxic relationship and shouldn’t be shown in books.

All-in-All as long as it is shown in a healthy manner then I think it is okay.

Friends to Lovers:

THIS IS SO CUTE! Just like in the hate to love trope as long as it is done in a healthy manner than I am okay with it!

Boys that act like they are the gods:

THEY AREN’T, NEITHER IS ANYONE ELSE ON EARTH. YOU KNOW WHAT IS THOUGH. DOGS!

But like seriously, have you all seen what the human race has done to everything in this place we call earth. Don’t even get me started on what we do to each other and other animals.

All-in-All who has the right to deem themselves better then everyone else.

What do you all think about this post? Do you have any other tropes in mind? Do you have any examples in books that you have read that can relate to what I said. What tropes do you think should continue to be and continue to flee?

Tell me what you all think!
