Hello my little munchkins. How are you all doing? I am doing okay. I am leaving for Vegas today actually so YAY me! I am going to just get straight into this post since it is a very, and I mean VERY long post and I don’t want to stall your time.
1. No TBR
I have no set TBR or if you don’t know what that is it is a To Be Read list where a bookworm makes a list of books they hope to read in the future. HOWEVER MOST OF THE TIME THAT ENDS UP IN A PILE OF MUD.
And the worst part is that we all really do try or at least I, to get to all of those books so we feel that little sense of accomplishment.
Almost like knowing you have to clean your room and you kinda want to but you won’t because you also don’t want to because you want to clean another room of the house or living area. I really hope that made sense.
2. No Solid Form of a Bookmark
Sooooo, I am that type of person who gets a bunch of really cute bookmarks and then when I really do need them they aren’t around or I am too lazy to go get them so I use the nearest thing to me such as a receipt, bagel, phone, e.t.c.
But, not having a solid system of bookmarks sometimes can really confuse me and mess up the books pages so I really need to fix that ASAP!
3. No Set Schedule
OKaY, so this is almost like the TBR but not. What I am aiming for is more or less a standard amount of books that I want to finish in an amount of time such as a month, quarter, trimester or year.
However, once it comes down to it I just read books on a dime instead of telling myself I need to read X amount of book in Y period. So that pretty much sets me up for failure sometime.
So I am a fast reader but because I have trained myself to be on accident when I started reading fan fiction so know I am able to read extremely fast and understand it completely so because of that when I am reading I sometimes skip over description to get to the dialogue but then I will always realize in need the description so I will go back to read that.
5. Over-Buying (But Really is There Ever an Over-Buying?)
I have a thing for wanting ALL OF THE BOOKS. Like I know that I don’t need any more books but I want all of the new and old books. So yeah it is a bad and I mean bad addiction. Because there will always be more books but I can’t have them all no matter how much I try.
6. JUDGING A BOOKS COVER
I mean I know it is bad to judge a book by its cover but I want a good cover on a book. I want it to look done and eye catching because if I am buying something I want it to be all for my moneys worth: both in story content and cover content. Also you can get a good grasp of a story from a cover if it done write.
So I go with the books that I think are both pleasing with the context along with the cover because you always want to kill 2 birds with 1 stone. You know?
7. Book Hoarding
I like to keep the books that I have and I don’t necessarily want to give them away because it is usually of sentimental value to me. WOW I am such a bookwormlover.
8. Book Binging
Most of the time I cannot read a book without reading about 5 other books back to back to back after that. And I mean I know it probably isn’t that healthy but it is what I do so I shall continue to do it!
9. Wattpad Binging
So as of lately I have been in quite the wattpad binge where I am finding all of these great stories and more great stories and its like I don’t have enough eyes to read them all. I at one point had read so many wattpad books that I had in that time ran out of stories in the genres I was specifically reading so I had to take about a couple month break from reading before I came back and let. me. tell. you. something.
THERE IS SO MANY GOOD STORIES ON THERE RIGHT NOW. LIKE I CANNOT PHYSCIALLY OR MENATLLY OR EMOTINALLY HANDLE IT. I READ AT LEAST 5 FULL 60 CHAPTER COMPLETED STORIES TODAY ON THERE GUYS. IT IS A REAL PROBLEM.
10. IGNORING THE WORLD
Whenever I read I pretty much ignore the whole entire world because I am invested in another world. Sometime better than the current world and sometimes just so weird or fantasy like that I wish I was in that world. So of course when I am reading I zone everything out to escape into another world.
That is the end of the post! Do you have any reader problems of your own? What are your reader problems? Do you have any reader problems that I do too?
Thanks for reading and I’ll talk to you munchkins again in the next post.
